Drivers register gate-in and gate-out online
Lübecker Hafen-Gesellschaft (LHG) has put a new access road at the Skandinavienkai in Travemünde (Germany) into operation. The so-called "paper gate" is available to all trucks that picking up or delivering cargo at the forest products terminal. It is also used as an exit and thus relieves the South Gate.
The special feature: All the functions of the "paper gate" are automated. To pick up or deliver cargo, drivers log on and off independently via a kiosk system online.
As soon as there is capacity at the terminal, they receive an SMS inviting them to enter. With the help of a barcode, they open the barrier and thus enter the port area and leave again. Gate-out, i.e. signing out a truck, is also done electronically.
