DP World diversifies Down Under
DP World Australia has strengthened its hold on port and contract logistics by fully acquiring Silk Logistics Holdings’ issued share capital. The logistics provider’s subsidiary Down Under is looking to expand its own network of four container terminals, three container parks, and inland hubs in the country’s major cities.
By entering into this scheme implementation deed with Silk Logistics, DP World Australia is making a cash offer of AUD 2.14 per share and gaining access to the company’s extensive Australian portfolio.
With its 21 logistics hubs and 25 warehouses, Silk Logistics is present in five Australian states and offers port-to-door services, comprising port logistics and contract logistics. DP World currently handles around 10% of global containerised trade. This acquisition, set for completion in H1/2025, enables it to boost its regional capacities in Australia and Oceania. (mk)
