Dirk Max Johns resigns from management

Dirk Max Johns will leave the management of the German Shipowners’ Association (VDR) effective 15 August 2019. He plans to devote more time to his lecturing activities as professor at Hamburg’s School of Business Administration. He will continue to serve the VDR in an advisory capacity.

The members of the management, Ralf Nagel, CEO and Martin Kröger, managing director, will take over Johns’ other tasks in addition to their current responsibilities.

VDR president Alfred Hartmann cordially thanked Johns for his service and said: „I’m really pleased that he will continue to assist us as a consultant with his expertise, experience and contacts and that he will closely monitor labour law issues of particular importance to maritime shipping and also represent the VDR internationally.” (mw)
