Diligent robots in Dortmund
The Auto Store system in Dortmund, which boasts the largest number of robots in one location in Europe, is operational.
The system was built in a new hall with a floor space of 7,700 sqm and is specially designed for international players in the fashion industry with a capacity of approximately 180,000 bins and 280 robots.
As a result of the pandemic in particular, the e-commerce service provider Arvato Supply Chain Solutions saw a strong flow of online orders over the last months, the volumes of which often exceeded the seasonal peak volumes.
“We assume that the order and inventory levels of our fashion clients will double by 2024," says Christoph Echelmeyer, Arvato's location manager. (sh)
