DHL deploys hydrogen trucks in Germany

The logistics company will use the Paul Hydrogen Power-Truck, a vehicle based on the Mercedes-Benz Atego, for a one-year pilot for distribution and line hauls at its Cologne location. This is the second hydrogen to be deployed by the group in Germany. Another vehicle is already in service at DHL's German post & parcel division at its Cologne West facility.

The 15.6-t trucks have a range of 400 km with a trailer and 600 km without a trailer. With hydrogen trucks, only water vapor comes out of the exhaust. If the hydrogen is produced with green electricity, greenhouse gas emissions can be reduced by up to 100%. (ben)
