DHL can't help the trend

Deutsche Post DHL Group remained on the growth path in Q1/2022. Revenues went up by 19.8% to EUR 22.6 billion, while operating profit (ebit) amounted to EUR 2.2 billion (Q1/2021: EUR 1.9 billion). At 9.6%, the ebit margin was at a comparable level with the previous year (Q1/2021: 10.1%).

The group said that the "global B2B business was the key growth driver in the first quarter of 2022." The global forwarding, freight and supply chain divisions took the lead, but express also performed well.

In the domestic and international parcel business, B2C shipment volumes went down - earnings of e-commerce solutions and post & parcel Germany were below the very strong level of 2021. The group continues to expect an ebit of EUR 8.0 billion (+ / – 5%) in the current financial year. For 2024, the company still forecasts a rise in ebit to around EUR 8.5 billion. (sh)
