DHL and IOM enhance humanitarian logistics

DHL and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) have signed a global partnership agreement to strengthen humanitarian logistics and disaster response efforts.

This formal framework facilitates coordinated projects in regions including Kenya, Lebanon, Sudan and Turkey, with further capacity-building initiatives planned for Greece and Panama, as DHL has reported. “This partnership enhances our ability to coordinate relief efforts and ensures that critical aid reaches those in need,” said Mayyada Ansari, global head of DHL’s ‘GoHelp Disaster Preparedness & Response’ team. IOM general director Catalina Devandas added that “by combining our expertise, we can increase efficiency and expand our impact to better support people in crisis.”

In 2024, DHL GoHelp played a role in delivering 1,000 donated water filters to flood-affected communities in Kenya. The programme continues to provide logistics expertise and support to strengthen disaster preparedness and resilience in vulnerable regions. (js)
