Deutsche Post DHL group is in heaven

In 2021, Deutsche Post DHL Group generated revenues of EUR 81.7 billion, an uptick of 22.5% compared to 2020. Earnings almost doubled to EUR 8.0 billion (2020: EUR 4.8 billion) and the ebit margin increased to 9.8% (2020: 7.3%). Consolidated net profit after deduction of non-controlling interests also rose significantly to EUR 5.1 billion (2020: EUR 3.0 billion).

As far as its mid-term financial targets to 2024 are concerned, the group expects ebit to grow to "around EUR 8.5 billion" in 2024.

The group invested a record sum of EUR 3.9 billion (2020: EUR 3.0 billion) in its business, digitalisation and sustainability in 2021. Excluding acquisitions, like the planned take-over of Hillebrand, the company expects a gross capital expenditure of around EUR 4.2 billion for 2022. These investments will be spent on transport and sorting capacities as well as the further implementation of the company’s digital transformation. (sh)
