Czech locomotives take to Slovenian tracks
CZ Loko is entering the Slovenian railway market with a delivery of its flagship EffiShunter 1000. The Czech manufacturer won a tender to deliver four shunters to the Slovenian national carrier Slovenske železnice – Tovorni promet. The EffiShunters will be deployed in the port of Koper.
CZ Loko’s shunter, which came out top in the competition between European and American manufacturers, best meets the customer’s demanding criteria related, inter alia, to use in a coastal environment.
The shunters’ operation in Slovenia also envisages the installation of the Indusi train control system which ultimately means that the technical solution can be extended to other Balkan countries. (ben)
