CTS mourns its founder Herbert Jaixen

CTS Container-Terminal is mourning the death of its founder Herbert Jaixen. The logistics manager passed away in Cologne (Germany) at the age of 91. Jaixen founded the CTS Container-Terminal at the end of 1983 in Cologne.

Because the container business grew successfully from the start, the first small CTS office at the Hansekai soon had to be expanded. At the beginning of the nineties, the area of the terminal at the Stapelkai, where the administrative offices of CTS are now situated, was doubled, in response to the continuing boom of the container logistics industry.

Jaixen left the CTS, where he had held the position of CEO, at the end of 1993. He remained CEO of the DCH container port in Düsseldorf, which belonged to the same group of companies as CTS, until 1994, and he served as a member of the CTS advisory board until 2000. He was awarded with the German federal cross of merit with ribbon for his business achievements in 1995. (mw)
