Crediting renewable fuels with CCF

The European Parliament's transport committee has voted in favour of the inclusion of renewable fuels in the CO2 emission standards for heavy-duty vehicles and in favour of crediting renewable fuels by means of a carbon correction factor (CCF).

This is a clear signal for a technology mix and against a de facto ban of the combustion engine, the e-Fuel Alliance, an interest group, has commented.

Internal combustion trucks run less and less on 100% fossil fuels. Solutions and fewer restrictions are required, as more than 60% of all CO2 emissions in trucks come from units that drive between 500 - 1,000 km per day, the e-Fuel Alliance added. (ben)
