Cosmetics thrown in the tower

It’s all about the right fragrance. The shipper Sephora, an affiliate of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, banks on the warehousing and distribution of its products from an Arvato Supply Chain Solutions site in Düren (Germany). The cosmetics company has relocated to a new hall with 7,000 m2 of floor space and seven loading bays.A new four-level picking tower, where goods will be stored and picked, is at the heart of the expansion. The shelving system contains more than 40,000 locations to store 20,000 articles. The project ran over a six-month period, with investment volume at EUR 3.3 million.Sephora started cooperating with Zalando last year. As a result, the products of the beauty brand and its partner companies are available on Zalando’s online platform, resulting in rapid growth in the volume of Sephora e-commerce orders in Europe.Arvato has stored, picked and packed goods for Sephora in Düren since 2018, managing distribution to end customers in the German and Austrian markets.
