Cooperating on best practices in air cargo

State-operated Airports of Thailand (AOT), which runs Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) and five other international airports in the country, has forged an alliance with the Mitteldeutsche Airport Holding (MDF), the operator of Leipzig/Halle Airport (LEJ) in Germany, to collaborate on best practices in cargo operations and route development.

Last week's signing ceremony involved Anake Teeraviwatchai, AOT senior EVP (corporate strategy), MDF CEO Götz Ahmelmann and Sandra Hamann, senior manager strategic projects from MDF.

MDF has thus joined 14 companies and organisations in ten countries to collaborate with the top Thai airport operator. LEJ is the second busiest airport cargo hub in Germany and the fourth in Europe.

BKK's two cargo terminal operators, TG and BFS, provide 1.7 million t of cargo capacity per year. (ah)
