Cooperating for eco-friendly deliveries

Maersk and Danone have partnered to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in seaborne logistics through Maersk’s ECO delivery ocean service, which uses low-emission fuels such as biodiesel or bio-methanol from waste feedstocks. The aim of the collaboration is to cut GHG emissions by over 40% compared to conventional fossil fuels.

Danone, committed to achieving net zero emissions by 2050, views the partnership as aligned with its decarbonisation strategy, which prioritises alternative fuels and multimodal transport. Beyond ocean freight, Maersk also provides Danone with inland transport solutions and logistical oversight.

Both companies, with net zero targets approved by the science-based targets initiative, underscore the importance of sustainable logistics in supply chain decarbonisation. (pb)
