Converting signatures in Singapore

Airbus projects that by 2040, there will be a need for some 2,440 freighters in Asia-Pacific, of which 880 will be newly built. On the conversion side, during Singapore Airshow last week, CDB Aviation committed to twelve conversions with Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW), expanding its A330P2F fleet to fourteen aircraft.

Moreover, the wholly owned Irish subsidiary of China Development Bank Financial Leasing is on pace to launch this freighter type in China in 2022, with lease commitments from Sichuan Airlines and Jiangxi Cargo Airlines.

As to narrowbody aircraft, Smartlynx has announced new orders for six A321P2F. The conversions will be performed at ST Engineering’s (Stengg) conversion sites in Singapore and China. The ACMI charter and cargo operator, which currently runs one EFW A321P2F, will operate all of them for DHL in Europe. (ah)
