Container train covers 10,294 km in 18 days
The Russian company Fesco and China-based Zhengzhou International Hub (ZIH) are launching a regular container train from Hamburg (Germany) to Zhengzhou (China) via the Sino-Russian border crossing Grodekovo/Suifenhe.
The transit time for the 10,294km long route is 18 days. The new service primarily hauls German goods that ZIH exports.
The first train from Germany, loaded with 43 x 40 foot containers, has now completed its run to Zhengzhou. It is now planned to operate this shuttle once per week.
Fesco and ZIH have been working together to transport cargo along the China-Europe-China route since 2017. Some 127 trains ran along this corridor between August 2017 and January 2019. (ben)
