Container railway station project continues
The initiators behind the Augsburg Region Freight Village (GVZ) project in Germany have signed a purchase agreement with DB Netz for a plot of land covering 85,000 sqm, thus taking the next step towards the building of a container railway station.
With the contract, DB Netz acquires the land to the west of the Augsburg-Nördlingen railway line. Currently, preliminary measures are being taken to clear the construction site.
Once the draft plans have been approved, the Europe-wide invitation to tender for the construction work can be launched. All tenders for the building contracts are expected to be completed and awarded by the end of 2023. (ben)
