Connecting Silicon Valleys

From tomorrow, 9 January 2021, Air India will operate the first-ever nonstop flights between San Francisco airport (SFO) and Bangalore (Bengaluru), India.

The twice weekly B777-200LR service also represents the only nonstop flights between the "Silicon Valley of India", which accounts for more than 35% of the country's software exports, and the USA.

SFO Director Ivar C. Satero: "This service links two great centres of technology and innovation and strengthens the cherished sister city relationship between San Francisco and Bangalore. We thank Air India for its strong commitment to San Francisco since 2015, and for this latest service."

Air India launched the first nonstop flights from India to the US West Coast in December 2015, making SFO the fourth US city to be served by Air India, joining Chicago O’Hare, New York (JFK) and Newark. (ah)
