Coltrans: Leschaco's second target

As announced recently, Leschaco (Lexzau, Scharbau) acquired the Colombian logistics company Coltrans, founded in 1988, effective 28 December 2022. The Bremen-based logistics player has thus decided to take over its long-term agent in Colombia. The German company said in a press release: "A trusting and close business relationship already exists on many levels."

Colombia, whose economy is a lot better than its outdated reputation, is one of the major emerging markets in Latin America with growth potential. Coltrans' whole workforce of 500 employees is now transferring to the new employer.

This was Leschaco's second acquisition in 2022. In February 2022, the Leschaco Group had already taken over Transantartic (TPL), a freight forwarding company based in Lima, Peru. Leschaco has been represented in the Americas for decades, having founded its own subsidiaries in USA, Brazil, Mexico and Chile. It continues to expand its network.

Grupo Empresarial Coltrans is headquartered in Bogotá, but the company also operates offices in the logistics strongholds of Medellín, Cali, Barranquilla, Bucaramanga, Pereira, Buenaventura, Cartagena and Ipiales. Martin Sack, Leschaco’s regional head Americas: "With the new locations in Colombia, Leschaco is now represented in 24 countries." (cd)
