CMA CGM grows footprint in Brazil
CMA CGM has signed an agreement to acquire a 48% stake in Brazil’s terminal operator Santos Brasil, which also operates the largest container terminal in South America at the port of Santos.
This acquisition, expected to close in early 2025, will enhance CMA CGM's presence in the country and its global terminal operations.
The group plans to invest in expanding and improving Santos Brasil's terminals, maintaining their multi-user operations while focusing on sustainability and service quality. A public tender offer for remaining shares will follow after the transaction has been completed. (pb)
