China launches cargo service to Central Asia

The first train of the new service is currently on the track between Zhangjiakou in China’s Hebei Province and Tashkent in Uzbekistan.

Managed by China Railway Beijing Group and loaded with auto parts, home appliances and textile products, the train will reach Tashkent in about 15 days via the land port of Horgos in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

With the new freight train services, China aims to boost cargo trades with Central Asian countries and develop Zhangjiakou as a logistics hub for multimodal transport. (ben)
