Changing of the guard at VAP
At its general assembly on 27 August 2024, the Swiss Shippers' Association (VAP) announced a change in its operational management and appointed Simon Wey as the association’s new managing director. He takes over the position from Frank Furrer, who has been elected to the executive committee.
Furrer had been managing director of the VAP since 1992. He is stepping down from his position due to his age but will remain available to the association in his new role.
The VAP represents around 300 companies from the shipping and logistics industry in Switzerland and neighbouring countries. They operate 750 sidings and terminals, transhipment facilities, traction equipment and 52,000 private freight wagons. (cj)
