CFL expands its network towards the east

From 8 October 2024, the new CFL Multimodal train will run between the Bettembourg-Dudelange intermodal terminal (Luxembourg) and Railport Arad in Curtici (Romania) three times a week. CFL Multimodal will cooperate with CFL Cargo and Ecco Rail to provide the rail traction services.

The train has a capacity of 40 slots for cranable and non-cranable trailers and containers and is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by around 22,000 t compared to road haulage.

With the new connection, the partners seek to serve the growing number of freight forwarders and production sites in Romania and provide an alternative to daily traffic congestion on the Hungarian-Romanian border. (ben)
