Celebrating and connecting (Air) New Zealand

Just after marking 80 years of flying - its forerunner Tasman Empire Airways Limited (TEAL) took to the skies on 30 April 1940 - Air New Zealand entered a partnership with the Government to ensure critical cargo transport lines are maintained.

The "international airfreight capacity" (IAFC) agreement allows exporters and importers to access key markets despite of reduced air freight capacity. General manager cargo Rick Nelson: "We are working to offer connectivity to and from the UK and Europe, as well as Houston and Chicago via Los Angeles and San Francisco, Hong Kong and Tokyo gateways."

Under the IAFC, also Emirates Skycargo will be operating three weekly Dubai-Auckland-Melbourne-Dubai flight rotations and a once a week Dubai-Sydney-Christchurch-Sydney-Dubai flight service operated by B777-300ER. (ah)
