Burcombe’s new TMS
Burcombe Haulage has cut customer-related admin time by 20% after implementing HaulTech’s transport management system (TMS). The Cornwall-based operator, specialising in haulage, reports it needed an industry-specific solution to streamline workflows and reduce operational costs.
The new TMS enables job scheduling, integration of ‘Sage’ accounting and real-time electronic proof of delivery (epod) tracking. “HaulTech’s portal will extend our services to our customers, giving them the ability to not just add jobs but to track progress from booking to completion,” said Burcombe technical director Paul Tarplee.
According to director Stuart Wilkie, the implementation took place because “the previous supplier was acquired by a larger group, which then couldn’t provide the flexibility we needed.” (js)
