Bünning to join BÖB and VBW team

Magnus Bünning will be advisor for transport, budget and location politics in the joint head office of the Bundesverband Öffentlicher Binnenhäfen (BÖB) and the Verband für europäische Binnenschifffahrt und Wasserstrasse (VBW), from 1 June 2021.

With the creation of this new position and Bünning’s appointment, the associations strengthen the structures of the cooperation that they established in autumn 2020. Bünning succeeds Melanie Wollert, who left in March 2021.

Bünning was previously a research assistant of Matthias Stein, a member of the transport committee of the German federal parliament and chairman of the inland shipping parliamentary group.

Until 2017, he worked for federal MP Bettina Hagedorn, a member of the parliament's budget committee, where he was responsible for reporting on the budget of the federal ministry of transport and digital infrastructure and the financing of rail transport.

VBW is a professional organisation that promotes the waterways as an intermodal mode of transport. (amh)
