Bringing bears from Pakistan to Jordan

Bubloo and Suzie took the flight of a lifetime and have arrived at Al Ma'wa for Nature and Wildlife in Jordan. After months of extensive preparation, which included health checks, planning of routes, customs clearance and training for the bears, DHL Global Forwarding brought the two 17-year old highly-endangered Himalayan brown bears from Pakistan to their new home one month ago.

The freight forwarding specialist of DP DHL Group managed the logistics of flying the animals, weighing 120 and 90 kg respectively, while veterinary specialists from the global animal welfare organisation Four Paws accompanied them on the same flight.

DHL chauffeured them to Islamabad airport in custom-built cages that adhere to Iata regulations. From there, they boarded their flight to Jordan with a short layover in Doha. (ah)
