BRG augments its portfolio

A new block train for trailers and containers now connects the Baltic Rail Gate (BRG) in Travemünde (Germany) with Bettembourg (Luxembourg) with three roundtrips a week. Traction is provided by the Luxembourg state-owned company CFL.

At the same frequency, a block train serves the destination Herne in the Ruhr area (Germany). Here, the traction company is Eisenbahngesellschaft Potsdam (EGP). Both trains are loaded by the Austrian haulage company LKW Walter.

With these two services, BRG now offers 53 departures per week - more than ever before. More new options will be introduced once the terminal expansion has been completed. BRG, a subsidiary of the Lübeck port company, will then be able to handle up to 240,000 trailers and containers a year on six 750 m long tracks. (ben)
