Bremerhaven’s dike advisory board to be renewed

The Bremerhaven dike advisory board was set up for the first time in 2010 as an active instrument of citizen participation.

This institution, in which each Bremerhaven district is represented by one person, creates transparency about the use of the funds raised by Bremerhaven's contributors for the maintenance of the flood protection facilities. In its practical work and especially in the dialogue between the administration and the citizens, the dike advisory board has proven to be a valuable asset.

In accordance with the statutes, the board now needs to be renewed. Interested contributors from the Bremerhaven urban area can apply for membership of the dyke advisory board to the senator for science and ports. (cj)
