Bremenports invests in its infrastructure

The project has been approved. Bremenports can now begin the construction of the Columbus quay on schedule. Managing director Robert Howe: "We plan to start in October. This means that we can meet our goal and begin building the Columbus quay just after completion of the Quay 66."

The Columbus Quay is located in the city of Bremen's overseas port area and extends over a length of 1,000 m from the southern tip of Columbus Island to the Quay 66 in the north.

The plan is to build new sheet piling roughly 20 m in front of the existing quay. The space between the quay and the new sheet pile wall will be filled in to create about 17,000 sqm of additional land. The first two construction phases are scheduled for completion in 2024. (cd)
