Breezing through a wind farm expansion
Laso has successfully completed the transport of equipment for the expansion of a wind farm. A new tower can now be added to the wind farm in Serra do Sicó, Portugal.
The operation comprised the shipment of four tubes, three blades, and a nacel, a hub and a drive train. Due to the large dimensions of the cargo, Laso had to use a Bladelifter - to angle the components - as well as axle lines. More than 50 people were involved to ensure a safe transport.
Planning started in July 2023, with the operation taking place between 29 April and 6 May this year. With the new equipment, Serra do Sicó can enhance its production capacity for the entire municipality of Pombal in Portugal. “Participating in the energy transition is a commitment that we assume with great responsibility and enthusiasm,” Laso’s management said.
