BLG Logistics contracts

As from April 2021, the Bremen-based BLG Logistics Group will pull out of freight forwarding and concentrate on its contract, automotive and container business.

Rhenus Air & Oceanis will take over its freight forwarding activities. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed, which is still subject to regulatory approval. Rhenus, which currently has twelve branches in Germany, will integrate nine the BLG air and sea freight sites with about 100 employees on 1 April 2021. They include business sites in Hamburg and Bremerhaven, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Stuttgart as well as Munich.

Yet, the forwarding site in Bremen at the very heart of BLG territory, which focuses on overland traffic, transporting heavy goods, project business and sea freight, is excluded from the takeover. (sh)
