Big investment in China-Europe fleet
Rolling stock operator RB Group has ordered of 3,600 container flat cars from Russian manufacturer UWC. The freight cars will extend the group’s fleet of 1,500 flat cars and will use them for the China-Europe traffic.
The chosen 13-6903 model has a length of 24.4 m and a load capacity of 74.5 t. It is the only flat car to accommodate 20-, 30-, or 40-ft containers, including refrigerator and tank containers with a gross weight of up to 36 t.
The flat car is equipped with 25 t bogies having an increased maintenance interval of up to 1 million km (or eight years). This model has been part of UWC Group’s product portfolio since 2017, the manufacturer said. (ben)
