Between Middle East and US Midwest

Emirates Skycargo launched freighter flights to Chicago Rockford International Airport (RFD) on 1 February, expanding its route network and connectivity in North America.

The Dubai-based carrier will operate scheduled and ad-hoc flights to RFD on a combination of B777F and B777-300ER mini freighter aircraft. The new service will complement its cargo connectivity in the US Midwest region adding to Chicago O’Hare (ORD) and Columbus Rickenbacker (LCK).

RFD executive director Mike Dunn: "Securing our first international scheduled airline air cargo service with a major global airline like Emirates marks a major milestone in the history of our airport. It will provide added choice for importers and exporters looking to ship into and out of the Chicago Midwest market and wider catchment area." (ah)
