Better rail links for Osnabrück hub

TFG Transfracht and the terminal operator Container Terminal Osnabrück (CTOS) have launched six weekly direct rail connections between the economic region of Osnabrück and Hamburg in Germany.

The train runs 100% CO2-free with green electricity. Operations at the Osnabrück terminal are also powered 100% by green electricity. With the new connection, Transfracht shifts another 30,000 teu from road to rail in the region, saving up to 5,000 t of CO2 emissions per year.

The new hub at the Osnabrück port site has been under construction since spring 2020 and has a stowage capacity of 2,000 teu, four 730 m and two 300 m long tracks as well as two 40 m high gantry cranes. (ben)
