Best ever loading achieved

India’s Central Railway (CR) transported freight loads of 50.93 million t during the period April to November 2022. This figure represents the best ever freight loading and an uptick of 6.46% compared to the same period in 2021, which recorded a total load of 47.84 million t.

In November 2022, CR posted a 9.3% increase in net tonne kilometres (ntkm) and a 12.83 % rise in freight revenue compared to November 2021.

82 rakes of automobiles were loaded by Central Railway in November 2022 - 17 more than in the same period last year. 702 rakes of containers were moved in November 2022 as compared to 675 rakes of containers in November 2021. (ben)
