Belgium: logistics by night for less congestion
The container terminals on the right bank of the River Scheldt in the port of Antwerp (Belgium) will provide overnight logistics as from 3 June. The PSA Europa terminal and the Noordzee terminal will be open 24 hours a day on weekdays. The Med Repair empty container depot will open at 05.00, an hour earlier than at present.
The move is intended to better distribute traffic flows and increase the efficiency of workflows. An overnight logistics service has been available at the Deurganck dock on the left bank of the Scheldt since March 2017.
Overnight logistics on both banks of the river will make it easier for logistics operators to connect the different terminals. (ben)
