Batteries for Valencia?
After a visit at the Port of Valencia, Alfons Westgeest, general manager of Eurobat, a European lobby of multinational electric battery companies, said that the Spanish port is not only "the fourth port in Europe in container traffic", but that "it has the mechanisms for logistics and shipping management that battery manufacturing companies need. This is an essential point for battery companies, the port, and its entire ecosystem. If there are no connections by sea, no battery factories can be built, and the visit we have made to the Port of Valencia today has been extremely important, as it is a key point to take into account when deciding on investments."
At the end of the visit, Eurobat announced that its Battery Convention will return to Valencia in 2024, given the importance that this business sector has for Valencia’s economy. (lh)
