BAG welcomes new vice president
Bernd Krekeler, formerly head of the control services department of Germany’s federal office for goods transport (BAG), took over the position of vice president of the office on 20 October 2022. He succeeds Christian Hoffmann, whom BAG had promoted to president in August 2022.
Krekeler can look back on many years of experience at BAG. After holding various positions at the office’s headquarters and as head of the Münster field office, he joined the control services department as line manager in 2017 before rising to the position of head of the department in 2018.
One of Krekeler’s particular concerns is the digitalisation of control processes and technologies in his organisation, which he is consistently pushing forward. (cj)
