Automax contracts distributor in Iberia
The Spanish affiliate of Maxus, the Asian brand of the Saic Motor group and the seventh largest car manufacturer worldwide, has opted for Bergé Gefco to manage transport and logistics for its new range of commercial vehicles in Spain.
The car manufacturer's distributor Automax Spain will start the sale of the new units in Spain in June. Bergé Gefco’s logistics centre in Tarragona will be used as gateway for the vehicles arriving by ship from East Asia and handle distribution for Spain and Portugal.
In May, the “Crystal Ray” arrived at the Port of Tarragona and unloaded a total of almost 2,200 vehicles, including the first units of the Maxus which are partially electric units.
The Bergé Gefco multimodal logistics centre in the port of Tarragona has a surface of 1 million sqm, a storage capacity for 40,000 units, 7,000 sqm of workshops and other value-added services. (sh)
