Automating logistics for IVF Hartmann
The Swiss company IVF Hartmann, which specialises in medical consumer goods, is building a new logistics hub in Neuhausen (Canton Schaffhausen, Switzerland). In cooperation with intralogistics specialist Dematic, IVF Hartmann will set up a fully automated warehouse equipped with state-of-the-art technology to meet its customers’ requirements.
The logistics hub is expected to come on stream next year. With the two-storey design, IVF Hartmann plans to increase the efficiency of its logistic processes and make optimal use of the conditions onsite. The warehousing and order picking areas are located directly one above the other so that no time is lost with time-consuming transport operations within the hub.
This efficient and cost-effective solution allows for a thorough automation of the admission, removal and order picking of goods and the flow of material, all processes that used to be carried out manually. (mw)
