App shows waiting times at border crossings
Currently, every day brings new challenges for transport logistics. These include waiting times at the borders that result in delays in shipments. An additional data layer provided by the company Sixfold enables users of the digital map of PTV’s route planning software Map&Guide to immediately see what is happening at Europe's borders.
Green, orange and red dots show the dispatcher at a glance whether traffic is flowing smoothly, coming to a halt or whether long waiting times are to be expected. The length of the traffic jam as well as the estimated waiting time at border crossings are displayed for both directions and are included in the route calculation, said PTV. (ben)
