Antonov's general director suspended


The Antonov company issued the following update after Ukrainian armed forces liberated Gostomel, where Antonov's flight test base is located: "Unfortunately, in results of the 'Russian world' actions, the airport is not recognisable now. AN-26, AN-74 and AN-225 aircraft [photo], control tower and administration building were destroyed. AN-12, AN-22, AN-28, AN-132D and AN-124-100-150 aircraft, hangars were damaged."

 

Meanwhile, Ukronboronprom, the defence industry conglomerate owned by the Ukrainian state, removed Serhiy Bychkov from his office of general director of the Antonov state enterprise, stating: "The reason for the dismissal was an official investigation into verification of certain facts published in the media. Yuriy Husyev, general director of Ukroboronprom, appealed to law enforcement bodies." (ah)
