Another unit on the Baltic Sea
A new ship is operating on the Baltic Sea route between Rostock and Nynäshamn. The ro-ro unit M/S “Eliana Marino” completed its premiere voyage on 25 April for Hansa Destinations, which is a subsidiary of the Swedish Redder AB Gotland.
With twice the cargo capacity, there are now six departures per week in both directions instead of three. The ship has space for 2,500 cargo metres and has several driver's cabins.
Since the launch in August 2021, demand from forwarders who want to transport goods by sea between Sweden and Germany has risen steadily. The new vessel will share the service on the Nynäshamn-Rostock line with the M/S “Drotten”. (sh)
