Another step for eco-friendly transports

Freight forwarder and logistics provider Alfred Schuon in Kecskemét is the first company in Hungary to opt for synthetic diesel to power its vehicles. This innovative high performance fuel is produced by the hydrogenation and isomerisation of vegetable oils.

During combustion, synthetic diesel emits substantially less emissions of nitrogen oxides, particulate matter, carbon dioxide and hydrocarbons than other, conventional fuels. The amount of climate-damaging greenhouse gases can thus be reduced by 90%.

The freight forwarder has also installed its own filling station to supply its vehicles with the new fuel. Schuon has been banking on green logistics for many years, deploying long trucks and LNG vehicles and using intermodal networks. (ben)
