Another Dubai hub for FedEx

FedEx Express has opened a new hub at Dubai World Central Airport as part of its USD 350 million investment plan for its expansion in the UAE. The new site has been dubbed Meisa as it serves the Middle East, the Indian Subcontinent and Africa. It will not only increase FedEx’s local network but also seek to boost the UAE’s aviation and logistics industries.

Dubai South offers multimodal access to air, sea and land trade routes. On an area of 57,000 sqm, FedEx will make use of automated sorting systems and AI-enhanced x-ray machines to increase productivity.

Additionally, a 170 sqm cold storage area caters to a wide range of temperature-sensitive shipments. It also complies with local sustainability regulations with a solar power project and an energy-efficient building management system. (mk)
