Another billion USD for the Suez Canal
The Suez Canal Authority (SCA) has scheduled investments of just over USD 1 billion for the coming financial year 2021.
Among other projects, the assigned investments will be used for the completion of four tunnels underneath the Suez Canal – two in the proximity of Port Said and two further south in the Ismailia province which lies on both sides of the canal.
Furthermore, SCA plans the construction of a sea pier to the east of the Al-Fardan station and the completion of the berths for new canal ferries. Additional projects include the building of the Al-Fardan and Ras Baniyas bridges and the dredging of the Manzala and Mariout lakes. (cd)
