Another agro express train from Russia to China
RZD Logistics (RZDL) has introduced a new service to deliver agricultural products from Russia to China. The first direct train bound for Xian has already left Moscow. In the refrigerated containers, meat and chicken products from Moscow region were transported across the Kazakh-Chinese border.
The new service shortens the previous multimodal transports by ship, rail and truck. The trains will run between Russia and China once a week, RZDL said.
As China is an important sales market for Russian agricultural products, RZDL is constantly working on expanding rail transport for food shipments between the two countries. (ben)
