Andreas Behnke to head Swissport Basel

Swissport has appointed Andreas Behnke as CEO and station manager at Basel’s trinational Euroairport. In his new role, he will be responsible for all the company’s activities in the airport ground services, air cargo handling, executive aviation and lounge hospitality sectors.

Behnke, who is currently responsible for Swissport's cargo business at Euroairport, succeeds Gion-Pieder Pfister, who will retire, as planned, by the end of June 2019.

Behnke joined Swissport as station manager cargo in Basel in March 2017. Prior to that, he worked for global logistics companies, such as, inter alia, Panalpina.

Willy Ruf, a Swissport SVP & head of Central Europe, declared: “Behnke has extensive experience in leadership positions in the logistics and transport industry. He most recently oversaw preparations for Iata CEIV certification of our Basel facility for particularly sensitive pharmaceutical logistics.” (mw)
