Amerijet: 50 years of air cargo in Latin America
Amerijet International Airlines is celebrating its 50th birthday. The Miami-based airfreight company started out in 1974 with a single aircraft, as reported in a press release. Meanwhile, Amerijet operates twelve Boeing 767 freighters and has evolved into a major player in the Carribean and Central American market.
According to the press release, the company has become stronger, both financially and operationally, after its transformation efforts last year. The revenues derived from charter and scheduled services have risen by 39% and 18%, respectively.
Commenting on the carrier’s performance in a "dynamic Latin America air cargo market”, CEO Joe Mozzali said: “This is a direct reflection of our resilience while providing value and service to customers and communities.” He added that this would not be possible “without our most valuable asset, our people.” (js)
